Cocke, Charles Wilson Age 69 of Hermitage, passed away Monday, September 13, 2010 after a 2 – 1/2 year battle with cancer. Born January 27, 1941 in White Bluff, TN to the late William Chester and Loretta Goodman Cocke, he is also preceded by his brother, Harold. Mr. Cocke was a basketball stand-out for William James High School class of 1959, and a graduate from Austin Peay State University in 1963. He taught school in the Metro Nashville system for 32 years. Survived by his wife of 44 years, Gail Loyd Cocke; 2 sons, Brack (Jessica) and Benjamin (Mary) Cocke; 4 grandchildren, Austin, Annaliese, Tanner and Cadence Cocke; 1 step-granddaughter, Carly Suhm; sister, Sharon Reed; 2 brothers, Willard and Dennis Cocke; 3 loving aunts, Helen Ross, Sue (Lee Jr.) Duke and Ruby Nelle Larkins. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010 in Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service. Inurnment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
